Born in Amarapuram, Kottayam, Kerala, to late P. K. Chellappan Sir and Janamma Teacher, Ajithkumar’s athletic journey started in a small village brimming with dreams. Under the mentorship of Merikutty Teacher, he learned discipline and determination. Later, P. V. Velsi Sir refined his competitive edge during his university years, ensuring his raw talent developed into structured performance.
His village Amara and the National Arts and Sports Club nurtured his early ambitions. In 1991, he earned the Best Athlete Award from the Government of Kerala, an accolade that would mark the beginning of his mission to guide India’s next generation of champions.
